Vienna again is world’s most liveable city

March 3, 2016

Highest quality of life worldwide since 2009

The Austrian capital Vienna has been rated the world’s most liveable city for the 7th time in a row by this year’s Mercer‘s “Quality of Life“ study. Vienna leads the ranking ahead of Zurich and Auckland, followed by Munich and Vancouver.

Altogether there are 7 European cities in the top 10, which shows the quality of living has not suffered during recent developments in Europe. Ranked 26th, Singapore remains the most liveable Asian city. Dubai (75) and Montevideo (78) remain the top ranked in the Middle East/Africa respectively South America.

The study examined local living conditions such as education, public transportation, safety, health care or cultural offerings and is used by multinational companies to decide where to send and locate their expatriate employees.
