Vienna ranked second most liveable city

August 19, 2016

According to the latest Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) poll Vienna became once again the second most liveable city in the world.

The capital city of Austria is only topped by Melbourne with a slightly lead. The third place is being held by Vancouver.

The EIU's survey assesses the liveability of cities based on five broad categories of Stability, Healthcare, Culture and environment, Education and Infrastructure. The authors of this study underline that the leaders all have a low population density and offering a plurality of leisure activities. At the same time the crime rate is low and the infrastructure is not overloaded.

It follows Vienna holding on to its top spot for overall quality of life, according to Mercer's 2016 Quality of Living survey published in February.
