Heading for the Future of Tourism Marketing

Tourism Trends and Innovation from Ireland

Tourism Marketing is changing rapidly. Companies have to be aware of new trends and technologies constantly. Multinational IT-companies as well as innovative startups drive these changes.

Content and interfaces of the future as well as data-driven marketing were the central topics of a “Future Markets Trip” organised by Advantage Austria and the Austrian National Tourist Office (ANTO).

Austrian hoteliers, restauranteurs and multipliers were among the 25 participants who were keen on learning about the latest trends in tourism marketing: Moving image content, speech recognition devices, wearables in communication and use of technology to analyse massive amounts of data to beat the competition.

During two busy days with visits to Google, Facebook and Ryanair, knowledge transfer was intense thanks to innovations platform TechIreland and Irish startups like LogoGrab, Cartrawler, Wia and Travel Open Partnership.

Two more similar trips from Advantage Austria for the tourism sector will bring participants to hotspots Tel Aviv and London later this year.
