Angerlehner sets up GRP Pipe Production Plant in Kolkata

2. June 2010

The Austrian construction company Angerlehner has set up its own production plant in Dulagarh, Kolkata, to serve their trenchless pipe rehabilition projects in India with new GRP liners.

The Austrian construction companyAngerlehner Hoch- und Tiefbau Gesellschaft mbH continues its successful business in India by establishing its own pipe production factory at Sankrail Industrial Park Dhulagarh, at Howrah/Kolkata to serve their on-going trenchless pipe rehabilitation projects in India with new GRP liners. The in-house produced liners are manufactured on an imported, fully computer-controlled filament winding machine. All kinds of geometries and sizes are possible, such as ovoid-shaped liners sizing up to 2610/2000 mm or D-shaped liners with dimensions from 1600/1900 mm up to 3000 mm. Also worth mentioning is the manufacturing of special fittings: a junction of two large sewers in A.P.C. Road, Kolkata required the production of an extraordinary Y-type-fitting, which has recently been produced with 100% precision.

The production plant has a capacity of up to 750 tons of GRP material per month when running on 24 hours operation.

A primary goal of the company is a high level of quality in production and in running the plant. The manufacturing facility is operated under ISO 9001:2008. In addition, regular quality inspections and testing of the pipes is done by renowned 3rd parties (such as at the Bengal Engineering and Science University (BESU) or at Jadavpur University) and the results have sufficiently demonstrated that its properties are in accordance with various applicable international standards.
