Austrian Bank finances Investments in Iran

The Oberbank is currently the only Austrian bank having direct business relations with over 10 Iranian banks.

This enables them to offer their customers an easy flow of money between Iran and Austria as well as the conduction of direct Letters of Credit. Beginning of March 2017, the Oberbank , accompanied by the Governor of Upper Austria, invited 25 CEOs of main Austrian producers to visit Iran with them and see the great opportunities and possibilities the country has to offer. Several projects were already discussed.

Furthermore, Oberbank has signed – as the first European bank – a financing framework agreement with the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) for loans that have a longer duration than two years. These projects will also be covered from the OeKB, if certain conditions are fulfilled. An increase in direct investments as well as trade to be expected.

Oberbank AG was established in 1869 and is an independent and dynamic regional bank located in the heart of Europe and headquartered in Linz. The Upper Austrian bank has branches in 5 European countries: Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia.
