Austrian jam keeps it sweet in Taiwan

In 1879, the Darbo family began producing fruit jams and syrups. Darbo gradually expanded their range of products and increased their share of both the food retail and restaurant markets to become the Austrian market leader in jams and honey - not least because of the loyalty of their customers.

A strong focus on exports has allowed Darbo to also establish a foothold in the Taiwanese market, where they have now been selling their jams and honey for over 10 years. Business has been booming in the last few years, even though jams are not normally found on the breakfast table in Taiwan. Quality products from Darbo can now be found in the largest Taiwanese supermarket chains, delicatessens and upmarket hotels across the entire country.

Darbo has positioned itself as a premium manufacturer that produces a contemporary range of high-quality products. The secret to their past and current success lies in their exacting quality requirements and strict selection criteria for their ingredients. Aside from jams and honey, Darbo is also known for its delicious syrups, fruit desserts, compotes and fruit snacks. In addition, Darbo makes products for the restaurant trade and provides the processing industry with fruit preparations and bakery jams.

Today, Darbo is a respected medium-sized family business with a turnover of 133 million euros. It manufactures high-quality products at three Tyrolean locations for its customers at home and abroad (with an export ratio of 50.8%).
