Prestigious assignment for Christmas lightening concept – #Stockholmsjul

The tough design competition for #Stockholmsjul was once again won by MK Illumination. The new contract covers 2014-2016.

The theme – Swedish traditional Christmas – will be present in everything from the lighting concept to activities starting in November of each year. By then 400 locations and 710,708 points of light will have been installed at no less than 36 addresses. People are still talking about MK Illumination’s reindeers that Christmases past have captured the Swedish capital just in time for Christmas. And now it’s time for a new take, for #Stockholmsjul 2014 a slightly mischievous gnome will appear where you least expect it.

The new exciting lighting concept is bigger than ever and will give that extra sparkle to all in all 36 of the city’s most prominent addresses. The concept is spectacular and traditional. MK Illumination has created a concept that visitors will love. The proposal also has a clear environmental profile.

#Stockholmsjul was founded in 2011. In addition to MK Illumination, partners include Fortum, Clear Channel and the radio channel Lugna Favoriter. According to a survey conducted in December 2013, 8 out of 10 visitors thought the Christmas lighting concept was attractive or very attractive. Since 2011 sales in Stockholm have increased by 14 % in December. Also hotel bookings during Christmas rose by 10 % in 2013 compared to 2010.
