Austria's top 10 brand corporations 2016

Energy drink manufacturer Red Bull remains Austria's most valuable brand corporation by a significant margin. The strongest growth was achieved by Swarovski, Novomatic and XXXLutz.

The European Brand Institute evaluates the country's most valuable brands every year. The Top 10 in the Austrian brand value study 2016 represented brand value totalling around EUR 32 bn (+0,9%).

With a brand value of EUR 15.1 bn (+2%), Red Bull remains unchallenged at the top of the latest ranking. In second place by a considerable margin is the Tyrolean crystal producer Swarovski , achieving an 5.3% rise in value to EUR 3.4 bn, thereby giving Swarovski the strongest growth of any brand. Gaming group Novomatic whose brand is worth EUR 2.9 bn (+3.2%), came third.

Retail giant SPAR successfully claimed fourth place with a brand value of EUR 2.2 bn (+2.3%), followed by the Österreichische Bundesbahnen (ÖBB) , Raiffeisen , the Erste Bank Group and the oil and gas company OMV , insurance firm Vienna Insurance Group-VIG and furniture retailer XXX Lutz .

The Austrian brand value study is already in its 13th year. Of the 500 largest companies in Austria measured by revenue, the study examines the brands which are at least 45% Austrian-owned. In the end more than 180 Austrian brands in 16 sectors were analysed.
