Blue Chip Energy, a young company from Burgenland, houses the world's most cutting-edge photovoltaic cell production.

In recent years, photovoltaic energy plants have developed into a globally-recognised alternative to conventional energy concepts and now account for a steadily increasing share of electricity supply.

To make the most of this forward-looking trend, the company Blue Chip Energy was founded in Güssing in Burgenland in 2006, which currently has the most cutting-edge photovoltaic cell production in the entire world.

70 staff produce high-performance monocrystalline cells for solar plants - 15.6 by 15.6 cm chips, which convert sunlight directly into electricity. The annual capacity is around 100 MWp. The number of employees will double by the end of 2008 to 140. Almost 100% of production is exported. The most important target markets are Germany, France, Spain, Italy and Greece.
