Kazakhstan introduces Euro-2 standard from July 15, 2009

 Governmental Regulations No.1372 of December 29, 2007 approves technical regulations on norms for air pollutions of cars running in Kazakhstan, in order to introduce the international technical and ecological standards “Euro”.  

 Press-conference concerning the introduction of the international ecological standard Euro-2 took place in Transport Tower building on June 19, 2009. Representatives of Ministry of Transport and Communications, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Environmental Protection, Committees of Road Police and Customs Control participated there, as well as representatives of domestic cars manufacturers and dealers.

Governmental Regulations No.1372 of December 29, 2007 approves technical regulations on norms for air pollutions of cars running in Kazakhstan, in order to introduce the international technical and ecological standards “Euro”. Euro standard is to be introduced incrementally: Euro-2 from July 15, 2009; Euro-3 – from January 1, 2011; Euro-4 – from January 1, 20014. Fuel of Euro-2 standard shall be introduced not later than January 1, 2010; Euro-3 – January 1, 2014; Euro-4 – January 1, 2016.

Import of European cars elder than 1997 will be forbidden in Kazakhstan since Euro-2 standard is introduced, and since Euro-3 introduction (2011) – ones elder than 2001. However, old cars running in Kazakhstan at present are not to be forbidden until their complete depreciation.
