OMV daugther company Petrom expands presence in Kazakhstan

 Romanian Concern Petrom, which belongs to OMV by 51%, has begun oil production at Komsomolskoye field in Western Kazakhstan.

Romanian Concern Petrom, which belongs to OMV by 51%, has begun oil production at Komsomolskoye field in Western Kazakhstan. The oil production is ecpected at 1000 barr. a day, and is to reach 10,000 barr. a day by 2010. The Komsomolskoye oilfield is evaluated at 34 mio. Barr.

Petrom got the oilfield development license in 2007, and invested into exploration works EUR180 mio.

OMV has started business, through its daugther company Petrom, in Kazakhstan in 1997, and works at oil fields Tasbulat, Aktas, Turkmenoi, Zhilankyr, Komsomolskoye and gas field South Rovnaya.
