Export Conference

1. March 2012

Raising exports is what we should strive for and therefore it is very important to discuss the export perspectives in 2012, said Economy Minister Valon Saraqini at the first conference “How and Where to Export More and Better” organized by Capital Academia.
“The higher trade growth has an effect in the higher growth of GDP. Therefore, one of the basic goals of the Action Program 2011-2015 is encouraging economic growth through financing and boosting export,” Minister Saraqini said.
“We need export with an added value, that is to say competitive export. In the long run, the key rests in competitiveness. We have stability, but that is not enough,” said Gjorgji Petrusev from M-6 Group.
According to the Strategy for Promotion of Export, the anticipated results in three years include raising the companies’ export by 30 percent, changing the structure of the export and raising production.
Statistics reveal that 61 percent of Macedonia’s export goes to the EU, and 28 percent to the Western Balkans. Last year 12 percent of the total export was realized by the company Johnson Matthey.
