The sector’s significance around the world is reflected in the growth rates: in 2020, the world’s environmental industries will turn over approximately 2.2 trillion Euro, making it the 21st century’s new boom industry. For renewable energies alone, 250 bn Euro of investment by the year 2020 will be necessary: on the global environmental market, technologies used to obtain renewable energies and produce solutions for efficient energies grow substantially.

In Austria , the process of rethinking has already taken place. Many companies were aware of the significance of renewable energy and developed it to their core competence. By now, Austria has decades of experience in developing environmental technologies and conceptual solutions. Without a doubt, this sector is close to get a key industry in Austria . Compared to other European countries, Austria is forth in terms of the share of renewable energies, currently over 23 %. This figure is higher than the 20 % targeted for the EU as a whole by the year 2020.

The Austrian Embassy Commercial Section is organizing an Austrian Booth at the upcoming ENTECH POLLUTECH ASIA and RENEWABLE ENERGY ASIA , 20 - 23 May 2009 in Bangkok. On this occasion we would like to invite you to meet representatives of leading Austrian Companies for enquiries into products, services and system solutions concerning environmental technology and alternative energy sources.
