Exports from Austria to Malaysia increased by 5.9 % in 2013

In 2013 Austrian exports to Malaysia reached a new record level of EUR 432.9 million, which represents an increase of 5.9 % compared to the previous year. Read more ...

The main export items are electrical and electro-mechanical products (electronic integrated circuits, transistors, semiconductors). They represent about two thirds of Austria’s exports to Malaysia. Also, Austrian imports from Malaysia increased by 8.3 % to EUR 303.9 million last year. E&E products remain the most important category of exported goods to Austria.

Events of ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA in Kuala Lumpur

ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Kuala Lumpur participated in three international trade fairs in Malaysia with official Austrian Pavilions with about 20 Austrian companies in the first half of 2013, i.e. METALTECH (metalworking & machine tools) , OGA (oil & gas industry) and ARCHIDEX (architecture, interior design & building technologies).

In addition, ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Kuala Lumpur, in cooperation with ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Jakarta, organized a series of three lectures in Austria on the topic of ‘Renewable Energy in Malaysia and Indonesia’. These lectures were held in Vienna, Graz and Linz before an audience of more than 100 Austrian companies interested in this sector.

For 2014, ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA is organizing official Austrian group exhibitions at ASIA WATER (water & wastewater technologies) in March 2014, DSA (defence and security) in April 2014, METALTECH (metalworking & machine tools) in May 2014, ARCHIDEX (architecture, interior design & building technologies) in June 2014 and IGEM (green technologies & eco products) in October 2014 as well as an Austria Showcase in the field of ‘renewable energy’ in conjunction with IGEM.

Good opportunities for Austrian companies exist in the field of rail transport and railway technologies. Another official Austrian Pavilion is therefore planned at the international trade fair RAIL SOLUTIONS ASIA which is going to take place in Kuala Lumpur in May 2014.
