To learn first-hand about the success stories of distribution partners of Austrian companies in our region, our Commercial Counsellor Nella Hengstler and her Deputy Mr Hannes Scheiner paid a visit to Mr Patrick Nzekwe, GM/Director of Clarke Energy Nigeria, who is representing GE Jenbacher gas engines in Nigeria.

Since Nigerian operations started in 1999 Clarke Energy’s installation base of engines has steadily increased to become the fastest growing power generation supplier in the region. The locally based team have delivered ~300MW of electrical generation capacity to many large industrial facilities across Nigeria, seeking economical, reliable captive power plants.

Clarke Energy is also able to deliver multi-engine power plants for independent power producers, and supplied one of Nigeria's first gas-fuelled IPP facilities at Akute Power for Oando. The engines were installed across the southern parts of Nigeria – in Lagos, Port Harcourt, Benin, Aba - and Ajaokuta in the north. This shows a great potential of growth across Nigeria wherever there are gas pipelines. Clarke Energy is involved with major stake-holders in the future provision of captive power to support the re-vitalisation of power supply in the country by the new Government. With this development, major orders for GE Jenbacher engines and ancillary equipment are expected in 2016.

Clarke Energy recently entered the Cameroonian market with its own subsidiary and plans to expand to further countries in the region. For further information please visit the following link .
