The ENERGY GLOBE World Award for Sustainablitiy is one of today’s most renowned environmental prizes - with more than 100 countries and about 800 projects participating. Sustainable environmental projects for the ENERGY GLOBE Award 2010 from around the globe can be submitted with immediate effect. Entries must be sent in by 15 June 2010.

"It is our duty and responsibility to assure that young people will have an intact environment tomorrow." With these words Wolfgang Neumann launched the World ENERGY GLOBE Award for Sustainability in 1999, today’s most prominent and prestigious environmental prize.

The goal of the ENERGY GLOBE Award is to create awareness and identify solutions for environmental problems and to demonstrate that each of us can make a positive contribution. Sought after and awarded will be projects from all over the world that conserve and protect resources such as energy and those using renewable or emission-free sources. Each year some 800 projects and initiatives globally are submitted to compete for the award in the categories Earth, Fire, Water, Air and Youth.

Every year the ENERGY GLOBE World Award for Sustainability is awarded in a major television gala and broadcast worldwide. In the past speakers have included Kofi Annan, Mikhail Gorbachev, Martin Sheen and Dionne Warwick who also presented the awards of 10,000 EURO each per category. The Energy Globe Award 2010 gala will be hosted by the European Parliament at the Plenary Hall in Brussels.
