14th Conference of European Regions and Cities (KERS): 30 September-2  October 2018 in  Salzburg, Austria

The Institute of the Regions of Europe (IRE) invites you to the 14th Conference of European Regions and Cities in Salzburg. The conference is part of Austria’s EU presidency and this year’s topic is ‘Europe 1918 – 2018 – 2118’.

The Institute of the Regions of Europe has succesfully represented the interests of Europe’s regions and municipalities since 2004. Its 14th Conference of European Regions and Cities will be held at Salzburg’s Kongresshaus from 30 September to 2 October 2018.

The programme includes a series of high-profile panel discussions on the topics ‘What became of the Europe of its founding fathers?’, ‘What will become of Europe?’, ‘Europe: the future is digital’, ‘The future of energy in Europe’ and ‘Rural depopulation – the fate of Europe’s rural areas’. An IRE symposium will discuss ‘The force of regions – subsidiarity and Europe’.

There will also be presentations by numerous international experts and decision-makers from the worlds of politics and economics, plus talks by Johannes Hahn, EU Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, Karl-Heinz Lambertz, President of the European Committee of the Regions, and Austrian Federal Ministers Karin Kneissl and Elisabeth Köstinger.

Representatives of cities and regions, IRE members and students may take part in the event free of charge. The registration fee for companies is EUR 390. IRE is expecting around 250 delegates to attend.
