Austria’s dual vocational training system featured on Transformation TVET

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) recently held the 7th International Skills Forum last 12-14 December 2017 at the ADB Headquarters in Manila, Philippines. The theme of this year’s forum, Anticipating and Preparing for Emerging Skills and Jobs, took a holistic approach to different types of skills that employers require and how the education and training systems are responding to rapidly changing requirements in light of the fourth industrial revolution. The Forum gathered more than 300 international participants from policymakers, practitioners and experts to discuss how rapid changes in technology, urbanization and demographics is impacting skills and jobs.

Austria’s dual vocational training system was represented in the panel on “Transformational TVET: Dual Training” through the presentation of Ms. Doreen Anette Ullrich of their project with the Jiangsu Province in China. The project is supported by the Austrian Development Agency and is implementing State-approved training system based on Austrian standards.
