TOP 10 Brands in Austria

The producer of the energy drink Red Bull remains by far the undisputed number one in Austria. Novomatic, Erste Bank Gruppe and OMV recorded the strongest gains.

The leading European institution for researching the value of brands, The European Brand Institute, selects the most valued Austrian brands each year. The top 10 of the study of Austrian brands in 2018 represents a total value of about 33.2 billion euros (+ 3.4%). The undeniable number one in the ranking remains Red Bull with a brand value of 15.4 billion euros (+ 0.9%). Far behind, the Tyrolean group Swarovski Crystal occupies the second place with 3.6 billion euros (+ 2.7%). The Novomatic gaming group is in third position with a gain of 7.5% to 3.4 billion euros compared to 2017. It has achieved the highest growth of all brands.

The retail giant SPAR maintains its fourth place with a brand value of 2.4 billion euros (+ 4.1%). The following places are occupied by Raiffeisen Banken Gruppe , Österreichische Bundesbahnen (ÖBB), Erste Bank Gruppe , the OMV oil group, the furniture dealer XXX Lutz and the insurance group Vienna Insurance Group-VIG . The benchmark study of Austrian brands was carried out for the 15th time. From 500 Austrian companies with the highest turnover, it has selected the brands of which more than 45% are owned by Austrian capital. Finally, 180 brands in 16 sectors of activity were analyzed and evaluated.
