Steel and glass constructions to write architectural history

What do the Berlin Reichstag dome, a swing bridge over the Golden Horn in Istanbul and the Reykjavik Concert Hall have in common? They were all projects realised by the Waagner-Biro Group.

Engineering expertise of the highest standard and more than 150 years of experience in steel and machine construction form the basis for the success of the Austrian company.

The Waagner-Biro group has three main divisions, each with different specialities. Waagner-Biro Stahlbau AG is the steel and glass technology division who are noted for completing the roofing on the Queen Elizabeth II Great Court in the British Museum in London.

The second division is Waagner-Biro Bridge Systems AG, a technology leader when it comes to bridge construction. The company's portfolio ranges from swing bridges, like the one over the Golden Horn in Istanbul, to modular bridges and panel bridges, of which 100 units are installed around the world every year.

At the other end of the scale, the third company division is Waagner-Biro Stage Systems AG who supply high-quality stage machinery. They will be providing the newly built music theatre in Linz, Upper Austria, with the largest revolving stage in the world.
TheWaagner-Biro Gruppe has established a strong market position with its products worldwide; with 15 sites across Europe, the Middle East and the Far East, the group is the global market leader in all 3 sectors.
