Swedish fashion guru with a love for Austria

What´s not to miss when you go to Austria?

One of many things you shouldn’t miss when you go to Austria is to go to one of the many coffeehouses, and just sit and look around and enjoy the feeling, drink  “Einspänner”, “Café Melange” or any other coffee and have a cake,  take your time and don`t be in a hurry.

What is your absolute favorite place in Austria?

I have many favorite places in Austria, Strobl am Wolfgangsee is one, a very small village, not fashionable at all, but in August when the weather is warm and sunny and you can take long swims in the completely clean, warm (often 23 degrees) darkgreen water surrounded by mountains, or just sit in the sun on the bridge doing nothing. It is mentally  fantastic!

Kitzbühel is also a favorite for skiing in the winter or even in summer for biking or walking, or swimming in Schwarzsee!

But  even the area south of Salzburg, Altenmarkt, Zauchensee, Flachau and so on, is fantastic both winter or summer!

What shouldn´t you miss to eat and drink when you are in Austria?

The food in Austria is not always so great in my opinion, but Tafelspitz is really good if made in the right way, and I never miss to eat a good Wienerschnitzel vom Kalb with Petersilienkartoffeln and Preiselbeeren! Other favorites are Palatschinken, Spinatknödeln, Kasnocken and when skiing is Kaiserschmarrn a must! Austrian red wine is also a favorite for example Blauer Zweigelt.

Do you have a favorite memory from Austria that you want to share with us?

Now I must mention Strobl am Wolfgangsee again, I was there for the first time when I was 14 years old 1967 in the summer with my mother, and I think then my love for Austria began! And after that I have many travelmemories from different places in Austria!

What do you recommend bringing back to Sweden from Austria?

Maybe a bottle of Obstler, red wine  Zweigelt or St. Laurent, also Mondseer cheese!
