Austrian Know-How at UITP Global Public Transport Summit

One of the most important fares within the public transport sector took place in Stockholm

From 9-12 June, the international public transport community, mobility decision makers and industry suppliers gathered in Stockholm for the UITP Global Public Transport Summit. Covering all urban and regional transport modes across the globe, the Summit combined a diverse program of Congress sessions and an outstanding Exhibition full of the latest innovations, solutions and products such as the newest electrical self-driving bus from Scania. 

Also four successful Austrian companies took part in this exhibition: 

  • The AIT Austrian Insitute of Technology is Austria’s largest non-university research institute and a highly specialized research and development partner for the industry. Its researchers focus on the key infrastructure issues of the future: Energy, Hearlth & Bioressources, Digital Safety & Security, Vision, Automation & Control, Mobility Systems, Low-Emission Transport, Technology Experience and Innovation Systems & Policy.
  • The Kapsch Group comprises several key entities and focuses on solutions in communication and mobility. These range from intelligent transportation systems in the field of tolling, traffic management and smart urban mobility to intelligent infrastructure solutions for public transport operators such as Automatic Fare Collection (AFC), electronic and mobile ticketing systems and ITCS.
  • The traffic technology group SWARCO improves quality of life every day, offering one of the most complete solution portfolios for road making , signage, urban traffic management, parking, highway and tunnel management, and public transport. With more than 50 public transport systems installed across the globe, 15.000 connected vehicles, 5,5 milion passengers per day and 500 million monitored kilometers per year, SWARCO makes travelling safe and convenient.
  • The vision of Upstream Mobility is to ensure access to mobility for everyone in the longterm. In order to achieve this vision, Upstream develops the digital infrastructure for tomorrow’s non-discriminatory transport system and offers it to cities and commercial suppliers worldwide.
