Austria – Among Top 10 Countries Worldwide Enabling Trade

World Economic Forum’s Enabling Trade Index ranks Austria Number 9

Austria ranked ninth in the 2009 index and scored well in the efficiency and transparency of its border administration (ranked 6 out of 121 economies worldwide), the quality of its transportation and communications infrastructure (ranked 6) and its business environment (ranked 8). East Asian economies – Singapore and Hong Kong SAR – occupy the top two positions in the Enabling Trade Index ranking. The United States ranked 16th and performed especially well in transport and communications infrastructure. However, the U.S. only ranked 36th in the area of business environment and 49th in terms of market access. See the detailed results for Austria here .
