Austrian Companies Display Products at the 2009 Work Truck Show

March 30, 2009

North America's largest event for "Work Trucks"

Austrian companies Palfinger, Steinbauer, and Pewag all displayed products at the 2009 Work Truck Show, which is organized by and held in conjunction with the 45th Annual NTEA (National Truck Equipment Association). The show took place in Chicago from March 3-6. This event, showcases “working” trucks (class 1-8) and every accessory imaginable for these trucks.

The Work Truck Show is the largest work truck and trailer event in North America and is a perfect venue for manufacturers to launch new chassis, commercial truck equipment, accessories and other truck products, as well as for customers to also see the latest industry developments all in one place.

490 exhibitors participated in this year’s show and introduced over 80 new products. Highlights this year included “Green” trucks which offer hybrid drivetrains and more fuel efficient engines. In fact, this year the NTEA introduced it’s first annual Work Truck Show Green Award. To qualify for the Award, the product or technology must be new (introduced within the 12 months preceding the show), manufactured or distributed by a show exhibitor and displayed in that company’s booth at the Work Truck Show 2009. The product or technology must improve fuel utilization for work trucks. The Green Award this year went to Reading Truck Body for their new aluminum truck bodies. These truck bodies made from aluminum are lighter in weight and therefore contribute to greater fuel efficiency as well as reduced wear and tear on the chassis.

The Work Truck Show is designed for work truck professionals, including fleet managers, equipment buyers, maintenance personnel, manufacturers, distributors and dealers. In addition to trucks, all manner of accessories for trucks are on display at the show. Everything from nuts and bolts to lighting, toolboxes, power supplies, to larger parts like snowplow blades, truck beds, and liftgates can be found at the Work Truck Show.

The 2010 Work Truck Show will be held from March 9-12, 2010 in St. Louis, Missouri.
