Andritz Hydro awarded contract to refurbish hydropower plant

In early February 2011, the US Army Corps of Engineers in Portland awarded ANDRITZ HYDRO the contract to refurbish the Hills Creek hydropower plant in Oakridge, Oregon. This order includes model testing, supply of two new vertical Francis runners (output 16 MW each), hydromechanical equipment, rewind of both generators, as well as refurbishment of additional power plant equipment. Recommissioning is scheduled for 2014. This contract is key in strengthening ANDRITZ HYDRO´s leading market position for refurbishing hydropower plants in the USA. The project follows several refurbishment contract awarded in 2010: the Webber Falls, Spring Creek, Lay Dam, Bouldin Dam, and Hoover dam hydropower plants.
