Binder+Co AG receives major glass recycling order in Kansas City, Missouri

The state-of-the-art sorting system will handle five tons of glass per hour

By the end of summer 2009, Ripple Glass, a new glass processing plant started by the owners of Boulevard Brewing Co., will open in Kansas City, Missouri. Used glass will be processed in order to manufacture high-purity glass powder for the insulation materials industry. Binder+Co prepared a design concept for the new plant in Kansas City, supplies the core components and assists the brewery with its know-how and experience.

Binder+Co , located in the eastern part of Styria, is the global technological leader for glass recycling. The company’s services for glass recycling includes machines that separate waste glass shards from other material and then sort the glass according to color. In addition, the firm offers project development and the construction of entire waste glass processing plants. Furthermore, the company is involved in the field of wastepaper recycling and has a long history of plastic sorting. Besides the major order in the U.S., Binder+Co AG has also two additional contracts: one in the environmental technology field in South Africa, and the second order will go to a plastic recycling plant in Portugal.
