May 13, 2011

Gold Medal for the White Secco at the World Wine Championships 2011

Success for one of Austria's oldest makers of sparkling wine: Schlumberger's White Secco received the label "Exceptional", and won the Gold Medal in the category "International Sparkling Wines" at the World Wine Championship 2011 in Chicago.

According to The Beverage Tasting Institute , White Secco is "a refreshingly young and alluring sparking wine with a subtle bouquet of grapes and fresh and fruity flavors of Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc. Perfect for pairing with canapés and desserts."

The tasting notes describe the White Secco as "Bright golden yellow color with big bubbles. Aromas of golden raisin, peach jam on toast and chestnut honey with supple, round, fruity, medium-to-full body and a long, tangy, orange custard and mossy flinty earth accented finish. A superbly rich and appetizing food sparkler that will be great with spicy Thai food."

US importer for this wine: Duggans Distillers Products Corp., Blauvelt, NY
