More than 1,200 exhibitors at ProMat 2017 and Automate at McCormick Place in Chicago

Largest equipment and technology display of manufacturing, distribution and supply chain professionals in North America

ProMat, held April 3-6, 2017, at McCormick Place in Chicago, is the largest exhibition for manufacturing and supply chain professionals in North America. Visitors had the chance to see the best material handling and logistics solutions the industry has to offer in action and meet the leading providers in person. For the first time, ProMat was shown on two different show floors with over 950 exhibits covering 370,000 square feet. 

It is more important than ever that warehousing solutions fulfill the demanding delivery expectations for speed and accuracy. Maximizing workforce productivity is a major factor the industry has to handle. Also the Internet of things (IoT), Big Data and how Industry 4.0 will impact the industry were major topics at the show. 

Innovative technologies from all over the world that face today’s warehouse needs were shown at ProMat. With Bulmor industries GmbH , voestalpine Roll Forming Corporatio , voestalpine Krems Finaltechnik GmbH , Faigle Kunststoffe GmbH , TGW Logistics Grou , KNAPP Logistics Automation and LTW Intralogistics GmbH , seven Austrian companies were part of the show and presented their latest developments. KNAPP AG with its demonstration of the award winning Pick-it-Easy Robot was a magnet for visitors and definitely a highlight of this year’s exhibition.  

At the same time the Automate 2017, the broadest automation solutions event in North America, was held at McCormick Place. The show was over 40 percent larger than the last time it was held in 2015. More than 400 exhibitors showcased their latest technologies for the entire spectrum of the automation industry. Visitors were able to see robotics, machine vision and motion control solutions in action. Two subsidiaries of Austrian companies, M&R Automation Canada Inc and ZIMM USA Inc , were also showcased at Automate 2017. The industry is growing and it apperas that automation solutions can lead to a competitive advantage.
