About the World Sustainable Energy Days Conference 2012:

With more than 800 participants every year, the World Sustainable Energy Days conference (WSED) in Wels, Austria, is one of the largest annual conferences on sustainable energy in Europe. In the last 10 years, the conference attracted more than 10,000 participants from 99 countries. The next ‘World Sustainable Energy Days’ will take place from Feb. 29 – March 2, 2012. WSED next! – Special reach out to Young Researchers and Professionals!

For the 2012 WSED, the organizers, the Upper Austria Energy Agency, would especially like to reach out to the next generation. The conference "WSED next!" will offer a platform both for presenting the work of young researchers and professionals as well as for interaction with experts and decision makers from industry and institutions. The organizer of the WSED, the O.Ö. Energiesparverband, offer complimentary admission, accommodation, meals, participation and local transport in Austria for up to 60 selected participants for 3 conference days (arrival: 28 February, departure: 2 March). How to qualify for complimentary admission and coverage of local costs: Call for papers by Oct. 5, 2011
Senior students, young researchers and young professionals are invited to submit contributions using the online submission form. Linked to the main topics of the WSED12, WSED next! will focus on biomass and energy efficiency in buildings. Deadline for submission is October 5, 2011. A scientific committee will select papers for oral or poster presentation. Submissions are invited from any scientific field (e.g. technology & engineering, economic and social sciences, law, arts, etc.) and must be in English only. Papers should be submitted online at
