Austrian Airlines
February 8, 2008

Deal includes 20 Domestic Destinations in the US via Hub in Chicago

Vienna –The Austrian Aviation Group Austrian Airlines (AUA) expanded its code sharing agreement with United Airlines in January 2008. Effective immediately, 20 domestic American destinations will be offered via Chicago through the “Star Alliance” partner. Austrian has had its nonstop route Vienna-Chicago on its schedule since early summer 2007. Earlier, United Airlines had taken over the flights in the code share program as of New York and Washington. In code sharing, two or more airlines share one scheduled flight.

Chicago O’Hare airport is one of United Airlines’ most important US hubs. United flies from Chicago to 20 destinations in the United States, including St. Louis, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.

AUA flies daily over the North Atlantic to New York, Washington and Toronto; Chicago will be a destination up to six times a week during high season. The New York and Washington airports already have a code share agreement for flights to 30 destinations in the USA with United.
