Further Investment Projects Planned for Eastern Europe

Fourth Survey of the Reuters & OeKB Business Climate Index for Central Eastern Europe shows Positive Trend

In the questionnaire Austrian companies showed their optimism regarding CEE and said they are planning further investments in the region. About 400 CEE headquarters in Austria took part in the survey and still see good chances for further investments, even though they are a bit more pessimistic than in the fall of 2007. According to the results of the study about 150 new investment projects, primarily in Romania, the Ukraine, Bulgaria and Russia are on the agenda in the coming months. Companies in the energy and water supply sectors are particularly active in the development of new markets. Expansion projects in already established locations is also planned by 40% of those asked.
