Norsepower Oy was awarded the international Energy Globe Awards for the Norsepower Rotor Sails project. Norsepower is the first company in the world to implement a hundred-year-old sailing principles in a commercially viable modern product. The goal is to reduce the environmental impact of shipping by making widespread use of its rotor-sail solution technology in the international commercial shipbuilding industry.
Jukka Kuuskoski, the CSO of the company Norsepower Oy received the awards on 1st of December 2021 at a small ceremony, held at the Austrian Commercial Office in Helsinki. Sirpa Tuohimetsä presented the awards.
The Energy Globe Award is the most well-known environmental award in the world today. This award will be distributed in the categories: Earth, Fire, Water, Air as well as in the forward-looking Youth category and the annual special category. There are participants from more than 180 countries in various projects. The award is given annually to projects, and awareness-raising campaigns for sustainable development that aim to save our environment.
The Energy Globe Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Austrian energy pioneer Wolfgang Neumann.
