Versatile program
Two days before the Slush Conference, on November 15th 2022, the supporting program began with a joint dinner and interesting presentations by experts from the startup scene. The next morning, the program continued at the ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Helsinki office with a presentation from the Startup Community in Finland, whose goal is to make Finland the most attractive startup hub in the world. After the presentation, four relevant Finnish startups from the Maria 01 Campus briefly introduced themselves.
The program continued with a walking tour at Maria 01, which is the leading Nordic Startup Campus with over 1 400 members and over 170 startups. Most recently, the group learned about the role of universities in promoting startups through the Aalto Startup Center and the Helsinki Think Company. The supporting program provided good basic knowledge and networking opportunities before the two-day Slush conference.
The most relevant Slush conference
At the core of Slush is the belief that better technology will create a better world. This year the Slush organizers have asked themselves one question again and again - who is coming? Not how many participants, but who are the relevant people?
With 12 000 participants Slush was smaller than before. At the same time, the number of participants who took center stage in Slush was higher than ever. Even 4 600 early-stage startup founders and operators, 2 600 investors (50 more than any previous Slush) and a long list of well-known venture-funds: Benchmark Capital, Founders Fund, Pear VC, FirstMark, Meritech, Tiger Global, Bain Capital, Spark Capital andGGV, who were visiting Slush for the first time, attended the conference.
More than 50 speakers who have built billion-euro businesses and 11 who have grown to 10 billion, shared their experiences and tips at the conference. Also, the best tech media in the world was there: Axios, Forbes, TechCrunch, Sifted, Bloomberg, Insider and Reuters. Even the cold of the dark North couldn't quell the warm mood at Slush.
