For the 7th time in a row, the commercial department of the Austrian Embassy in The Hague carried out a survey of branches of Austrian companies and investors in the Netherlands last October. The survey probes their opinions on the current economic situation, their own business situation and expectations regarding economic activities in the Netherlands.
The so-called "economic barometer" helps ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA to identify economic trends, future prospects and needs of Austrian companies in the local market and to respond to them with a range of support services.
More than 60% of the branches participating in the survey were able to increase or maintain their turnover in 2022. The orders book also showed a partly positive, partly constant picture. In addition, the utilisation rate of capacities remained the same. Employment policy and investment volume also remained constant. For the year 2023, however, the economic outlook is bleaker.

The results of the annual survey of affiliates and investors of Austrian companies in the Netherlands are known. The survey is an initiative of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber and is conducted worldwide by offices of ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA.
