The world’s best environmental projects have been recognised with awards at the Global Climate Summit of Sustainable Solutions held on 30 November, 2022. Prizes were awarded to the world champions in sustainability in five categories (earth, fire, water, air and youth) along with a special category.

There is certainly no shortage of innovative solutions for current crises, as was impressively demonstrated by the many projects submitted for the Energy Globe award, making it all the more important to inform people and economic actors from all over the world of these solutions and to motivate them to get involved in their future implementation.

The Energy Globes have been awarded annually for more than 20 years, and over 30,000 sustainable projects have been submitted for consideration, offering all kinds of innovative solutions to environmental problems. The prize-giving in Vienna saw distinguished experts in the field, including Nobel laureate Mohan Munasinghe, take part in a panel discussion before enjoying a gala.

The Energy Globe Award, the world’s most prestigious environmental accolade, is awarded annually to national projects that enhance the environment through personal action, sustainable projects or campaigns to raise awareness of sustainability. In many countries the awards for these national projects are presented to the winners by ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA. The Energy Globe World Award for Sustainability is then presented by the Energy Globe Foundation from Austria at the end of the year.
