Around 120 guests from the Austrian business community in Greece attended the event. In addition to the host, H.E. the Austrian Ambassador Gerda Vogl, congratulations were also extended by the Secretary General for Coordination of the Greek Government, Evi Dramalioti, and the Deputy Director General of ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA, Astrid Fixl-Pummer.
The Austrian Trade Commissioner in Athens, Christoph Sturm, emphasized that this milestone also marks the peak of Greek-Austrian economic relations to date. Austria's exports to Greece recently reached EUR 775 million, while imports from Greece stood at EUR 525 million, both all-time records. Service exports amounted to EUR 360 million, and imports to EUR 920 million. Austrian direct investments in Greece are at EUR 300 million, while Greek investments in Austria are at EUR 460 million. The Austrian business community in Greece includes 50 subsidiaries, 400 representatives, 1,700 importers, and 900 exporters.
The event took place within the scope of ReFocus Austria, a joint initiative of the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs, the Federal Ministry for Economy, Energy and Tourism, the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, the Austrian National Tourist Board, and representatives of further Federal Ministries.
