From June 1 to 5, ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA participated at Posidonia with an AUSTRIA Pavilion. As one of the world’s most renowned maritime exhibitions, Posidonia 2026 brought together more than 2,200 exhibitors and over 35,000 visitors from 83 countries. The event provided a key platform for leading shipping companies and the international marine supply industry to connect with their customers.

The companies represented at the AUSTRIA Pavillion covered a wide range of maritime applications: internet access control for crew and guests (IACBox by Asteas Technologies), biological concentrates for environmentally-friendly oil spill clean-up and fire protection (Bioversal), burner technology (Dumag), specialized high-resolution 360° camera systems for the cruise and yacht industry (Panomax), and autonomous underwater inspections (subdron).

Greece is home to one of the world’s largest shipping communities, with Greek shipowners leading the global commercial shipping market. The Greek merchant fleet comprises 5,124 vessels with a gross tonnage exceeding 100 and a total carrying capacity of 398 million DWT (deadweight tonnage). With a 16.4% share of global tonnage, Greece ranks first in international commercial shipping (UNCTAD Review of Maritime Transport 2025).

For Austrian suppliers, this translates into significant market potential. The solutions presented attracted strong interest and laid a solid foundation for future collaborations and business development. Overall, more than 250 business leads were generated for the participating Austrian companies during the exhibition week.
