ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Dublin's annual networking reception returned on 28 April 2026, this year held at Portal @ Trinity Innovation, the recently opened innovation hub at Trinity College Dublin's new Trinity East campus on Grand Canal Quay. Around 100 guests from across the Irish business community joined the evening, which was opened by Marco Garcia, Austrian Commercial Counsellor in Dublin. Among those in attendance was H.E. Melitta Schubert, the Austrian Ambassador to Ireland.
Set in the heart of Dublin's Silicon Docks, Portal is a 5,500m² co-working and innovation centre carved out of two refurbished Victorian bonded warehouses. Designed by Edinburgh-based Richard Murphy Architects to host some 300 researchers, entrepreneurs and corporate innovators, the venue offered an apt backdrop for an evening of cross-border business conversations.
The reception also doubled as the closing networking session for two Austrian business delegations visiting Dublin that week, one focused on the Future of Digital Marketing & AI, the other on Banking & Insurance. The presence of both groups gave Irish guests the chance to meet Austrian companies face-to-face across two of the most rapidly evolving sectors of the European economy, and to explore the kind of partnerships and market entry routes that ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA's Dublin office has been cultivating over many years.
A particular highlight of the evening was the Irish debut of OneTwoBeer, the Austrian fully-automatic draft beer dispensing system that taps a perfectly poured pint in a matter of seconds. Following the partnership announced earlier this month between OneTwoBeer and its new Irish distributor Wallbridge Co Ltd, guests were among the first in Ireland to experience the technology in action; Wallbridge generously sponsored the evening's beer.
By the close of the evening, conversations were still going strong across the room, and the team in Dublin extends its sincere thanks to all who attended.
