The EU Social Mixer series got 2026 off to a strong start on the 18th of February, with members of Dublin's European business community coming together at the well-known Baggot Street pub Doheny & Nesbitt for an evening of conversation and connection. The event was hosted by ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Dublin, as part of a rotating series shared throughout the year with seven fellow bilateral chambers: the German-Irish Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the Belgian Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce in Ireland, the France Ireland Chamber of Commerce, the Italian Irish Chamber of Commerce CLG, ISEA Ireland-Spain Economic Association, and the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Ireland.
The mixer series is designed to offer European businesses operating in Ireland a relaxed, informal setting in which to build relationships, both with one another and with the bilateral chambers themselves. Away from the formal structure of conferences or trade events, an evening like this allows professionals from diverse sectors and nationalities to connect naturally, which is often where the most valuable conversations begin.
For ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA, inter-European partnerships are not a side note but a core part of the mission. Ireland is home to a remarkably diverse European business community, and the Dublin office sees events like this as an opportunity to nurture that ecosystem. The hope is that an evening of good conversation over drinks can plant the seeds of future collaboration, between companies, between sectors, and between countries.
The next mixer in the series is scheduled for May. European businesses active in Ireland are welcome to attend.
