Webinar: Japan's Market for Semiconductors, AI, Smart Factory and Robotics

  • Online

ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Tokyo will host a webinar in 2026 focusing on Japan’s semiconductor, AI, smart factory, and robotics sectors.  The 2026 edition will provide an overview of key market developments and highlight emerging technologies shaping Japan’s industrial transformation.

A special focus will be placed on the market launch of Japan’s flagship semiconductor project, Rapidus. Positioned at the cutting edge of chip manufacturing (2 nm), the facility in northern Japan was built and brought into operation in under two years. Initial sample shipments to customers began in summer 2025, with regular production deliveries expected to follow in early 2026.

Another key topic will be the use of artificial intelligence in research institutions and smart laboratories. The webinar will explore how AI is influencing both the development and application of analytical and testing instruments in Japan.

In addition, we will examine quantum sensing technologies, covering measurement at the quantum level – from magnetometers to quantum imaging. Japan has several strong players in this field, including Sumitomo Electric, Hamamatsu, and QST.

This webinar is especially suited for:

  • Companies (including plant engineering firms) in the semiconductor industry
  • Providers of smart factory / IoT solutions for production processes
  • Companies active in analytical and testing instruments for research and industrial applications
  • Research institutions working in related fields
