AUSTRIA CONNECT kicked off with the ReFocus Austria reception hosted by the Austrian Ambassador in Tokyo, Elisabeth Bertagnoli, where participants were able to discuss the opportunities and possibilities of Austria's presence at the upcoming EXPO 2025 in Osaka.
Ms Mariana Kühnel, Deputy Secretary General of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, opened the conference on April 19th and stressed the importance of further deepening economic relations with Japan, Austria's second most important trading partner in Asia. The Business Conference Day underlined the core message of AUSTRIA CONNECT Japan 2024 "Breaking Boundaries: Japan's Economic Renaissance": Japan is back on the economic fast track. This not only applies to EXPO 2025 as the next major event, but also to the investment environment, the importance of supply chain security and Japan's achievements in re-shoring production. Other topics covered in the workshops and seminars included Japan's commitment to sustainability and its forward-looking developments in new energies and the circular economy.
