Last year, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan and the Austrian Federal Ministry Agriculture and Forestry, Climate and Environmental Protection, Regions and Water Management signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on Sustainable Forest Management and Timber Utilization. Based on this agreement, we are pleased to announce the 2025 Special Forestry Training Course for Administrative Officials, hosted by the Traunkirchen Forestry Training Center in the state of Upper Austria and the Austrian Federal Ministry Agriculture and Forestry, Climate and Environmental Protection, Regions and Water Management.
Location: Traunkirchen Forestry Training Center, Upper Austria
Schedule: July 21 (Mon) – July 25 (Fri), 2025 (5 days)
Number of Participants: Maximum: 20 participants (Minimum: 10 participants required)

Training Program Contents: Participants will engage in hands-on learning and site visits to observe:
- Timber harvesting operations using tower yarders, harvesters, and forwarders
- Forest management techniques including natural regeneration, young forest care, and thinning
- Safety practices, hunting infrastructure, and forest road construction
- On-site use of training equipment and simulators (e.g., hunting and harvester simulators)
- Real-world operations conducted by Austrian professional forestry companies
This is an opportunity to experience authentic, practical forestry training in one of Austria’s leading forestry education institutions.
Participation Fee:
- EUR 2,200 per person (if there are 10 or more participants)
- If the number of participants is less than 10, the course may still proceed, but the fee may be adjusted accordingly.

Estimated cost for a 6-night/7-day stay EUR 2,200 (arrival: Sunday, July 20 – departure: Saturday, July 26)
Final cost and confirmation of course execution will be communicated after the application deadline.
