ACR explores the Dutch innovation system

From 14 to 16 May, the annual study tour organised by ACR - Austrian Cooperative Research took a 43-person, high-profile delegation to the Netherlands.

Through presentations and visits, the participants gained interesting insights into the Dutch innovation and funding system.

The delegation led by Ms. Iris Filzwieser , Ms. Henrietta Egerth-Stadlhuber and Mr. Florian Frauscher was welcomed by Ambassador Astrid Harz and Commercial Counsillor Michael Spalek afterwhich they during a canal tour in Amsterdam. 

Other items on the programme of the trip, which were organised together with the ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA team in The Hague, were presentations by the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs, NWO (Dutch Research Council) and the Organisation for Applied Research TNO. Here it was explained how government, business and education and research institutions work together and why the Netherlands is one of Europe's innovation leaders.

The delegation was able to experience a practical implementation first-hand through visits to the RDM Innovation Dock and Hardt Hyperloop in Rotterdam, as well as TNO's Building Innovation Lab in Delft.
