Lower Austria Chamber of Commerce for Banking and Insurance excursion

At the end of May, ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA had the pleasure of welcoming directors and branch managers of several banks and insurance companies from Lower Austria as part of their annual study tour. This year's delegation were welcomed to the Netherlands.

The 15-member delegation, led by Mr Reinhard Karl, Deputy Managing Director of Raiffeisenlandesbank NÖ-Wien, and Mr Rudolf Klopsch, Head of Banking & Insurance at the Lower Austrian Chamber of Commerce, was treated to a full and varied programme. In Amsterdam, the ING Group gave engaging and interactive presentations. The delegation also visited Booking.com's impressive headquarters, its campus built by the Züblin, subsidiary of Austrian construction company STRABAG.

A boat trip through the Amsterdam canals could not be missing and provided a relaxing change to the business part of the schedule. The programme also included a visit to the port metropolis of Rotterdam, where the Dutch headquarters of insurer Allianz Benelux were visited. 


The group was then welcomed to the Ploum law firm by the Austrian honorary consul, Mr Simon Tan. A presentation on cyber security by the Austrian cyber ambassador to The Hague, Mr Engelbert Theuermann, and a presentation by Europol rounded off the official programme, before the trip concluded with an informal tour of the port of Rotterdam and dinner on the beach in Scheveningen.
