Mobility of the future already today in the Netherlands

20 representatives from Austrian business and tourism went on a study tour as part of an internationalisation offensive "IO - Zukunftsreise Moblität" to Utrecht. This study trip was organised by ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA in The Hague together with the Austrian Tourist Board in Amsterdam under the leadership of its director Lisa Weddig.

Over 3 days, participants got in-depth insights into local, innovative mobility solutions - from bicycles to solar-powered e-cars to high-speed trains - and were able to get ideas for the mobile tourism of the future.  With a cycling network of 36,000 km and a cycling density of 23 million bikes for 17 million inhabitants, the Netherlands is considered a pioneer in cycling. The group was able to use the "fiest" to get impressions of the cycling infrastructure in Utrecht.

At Atlas Technologies' Automotive Campus, Lightyear presented "Zero", the world's first fully electric e-car, which is charged not only by the electricity grid but also by solar cells integrated into the bodywork. Currently, the company already employs 600 people and 30 are added every month

We then went to Hardt Hyperloop in Rotterdam. The company is developing a high-speed transport system that should be a faster and at the same time more environmentally friendly alternative to air transport. The journey between Vienna and Graz, for example, would take just 20 minutes with this means of transport.

Finally, the group visited the Future Mobility Park where autonomous driving minibuses are being tested or parking guidance systems are being developed where you can reserve your parking space on public roads online or on the spot.
