Trade Mission to the Philippines for Austrian Recruiters and HR Experts
The issue of "lack of skilled workers" is more relevant than ever and affects Austrian SMEs and large companies alike. Since the legal changes to the red-white-red card that came into force on 1 October 2022, Austrian recruitment agencies can now also recruit specialists from third countries with restrictions.
On the other hand, workers from the Philippines -- so-called Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) -- have been deployed worldwide for decades. Aside from nurses and other health workers, OFWs are also in high demand on cruise ships, in the construction industry, and now especially in the IT and software industries. Current figures assume that there are currently over 10 million OFWs in America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia itself.
OFWs are considered modern heroes because of their significant contribution towards the growth of the economy, but the procedure for hiring OFWs is sometimes lengthy and complex. Against this background, ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Manila, in cooperation with the WKÖ Project for the International Skilled Labor Offensive (IFO), for the first time is offering Austrian recruiters and companies the opportunity to have B2B meetings with Philippine recruitment agencies, to receive information from experts about the correct selection and employment process and to get an idea of local training centers and training providers.
The Trade Mission also takes place as part of an official delegation trip by representatives from the Federal Ministry of Labor and Economics (BMAW), experts from the International Specialists Offensive of the WKÖ and the WKÖ Association of Health Companies and employees of the Vienna Social Fund.
