Trade Mission to the Philippine Rail Industry and the ADB Transportation Forum
The Philippines is undergoing a significant transformation of its transportation infrastructure particularly in the rail sector. Landmark projects currently driving this expansion include the country’s first underground subway system, new metro rail lines, long-haul commuter railways, and a freight cargo rail network – all contributing to a more integrated and resilient mobility system.
Many of these projects are being supported through financing from the Asia Development Bank (ADB) in partnership with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). In this context, the trade mission is strategically aligned with the ADB's Asia and the Pacific Transport Forum 2026. Held every two years, the forum is ADB's flagship transport-sector platform, bringing together senior policymakers, industry leaders, private-sector representatives, and development partners from across the region for a week of policy dialogue, technical exchange, and peer learning.
