From May 18-21, ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Philippines organized its Trade Mission to the Philippine Rail Industry, bringing together six Austrian companies for a dynamic week of dialogue, collaboration, and knowledge exchange with key stakeholders in the country’s ambitious railway expansion program.
ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Philippines facilitated high-level discussions with the Department of Transportation (DoTr), as well as prominent industry players including Colas Rail Philippines, Acciona Construction, and Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC). These engagements provided an opportunity to showcase Austrian expertise across the rail value chain, as represented by Atiga, Bernard Gruppe, Doka, Getzner, Hexagon and Plasser & Theurer.
A highlight of the mission was participation in the Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) Asia and the Pacific Transport Forum, where Austrian delegates joined regional leaders in shaping sustainable and future-ready transport solutions.
The delegation highlighted the strong impact of the Trade Mission, describing it as highly successful and well-executed. The program enabled the companies to identify new project opportunities and generate direct inquiries, while also offering valuable networking opportunities with customers and partners. Overall, delegates emphasized the insightful and rewarding nature of the Trade Mission, noting the valuable connections established and the clearer understanding gained of opportunities in the Philippine rail sector.
