ABC INDICATOR, BUSINESS CONFIDENCE SURVEY

Every year, ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA conducts a business confidence survey (“ABC Indicator”) among subsidiaries of Austrian companies. This year, for the first time, the results of this survey have been consolidated for the markets of Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Norway.

These are the key take-aways:

  1. The majority of companies have experienced a noticeable improvement of the economy in the last few months, which will extend well into the next year. While turnovers are up and order books full, only a minority of subsidiaries expect increases of their workforce and more investment.
  2. The availability, cost and skills of labour are considered the most challenging factors, while purchasing power, access to capital and quality of local suppliers are much less of a problem. A whopping 93% of respondents are convinced that sustainability is an important or very important driver of their business in the region.
  3. Asked what subsidiaries value most among the services offered by ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA, providing platforms for networking stands out. We will draw our conclusions: The first AUSTRIA CONNECT Nordics, a regional get-together and conference for Austrian businesses in the region, scheduled for autumn 2022, is in the making.
