The Safa Nepal initiative is a transformative waste management project that leverages a user-friendly mobile app to actively engage communities in Nepal.
CLEAN UP NEPAL initiated Safa Nepal with a primary motivation to address pressing environmental challenges in Nepal's waste management. Concerned about the detrimental effects of inefficient waste practices, the organization aimed to leverage technology, community particpation and informed decision-making through the Safa Nepal app. The overarching goal was to foster community-led governance, empowering citizens to actively engage in waste reduction. Recognizing the environmental, social and economic impact of unmanaged waste, CLEAN UP NEPAL sought to bridge communication gaps, enhance public awareness and establish an effective system for prompt complaint resolution.
